‘People issues’ take up most of every manager’s day. And it is often the most feared of all management responsibilities. For good reason – it’s complicated, emotional and rarely rationale. But it doesn’t have to be done poorly or painfully.
This Program provides a practical framework (scaffolding) and skills to manage the people side of the resource equation. It is about helping you make sure that the right people are in the right place at the right time, and have the rights skills to do their jobs. Related specifically to managing people in a hospital ward, aged care facility, and business unit,
- Develop a practical understanding of workforce and succession planning at the Unit level
- Identify the keys to recruiting and retaining winners
- Unpack staff allocation and management – rostering and replacement!
- Develop skills and processes for establishing roles, responsibilities and managing performance.
In this module, nurses and nurse managers will develop an understanding, skills, strategies and the confidence to manage the people and money in their teams.
